Joseph Hopkins. Director of the Centre for Modern Languages. He holds a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA). His work as a researcher has focused on CALL (computer-assisted language learning), training of language teachers in the use of ICTs, distance language learning, computer-supported collaborative learning, and computer-mediated communication. He has taken part in different projects relating to online language teaching/learning, including ICT-REV, funded by the European Centre for Modern Languages and the European Commission.
